SPF 50 is a producer, resident DJ of Brooklyn DIY party Bob & Shirley, and head of the label Professional Music.  Working on the Sustain-Release production team in the early days, he once named a track "Grove Map," knowing full well how portals are opened in the woods. His rolling hardware live set moves through psychedelic techno, breaks and acid with meticulous sound design, and is a perfect fit to take us there.

Mexican-Jamaican artist Andy Martin brings his fusion of dub, sci-fi techno, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms to The Grove. Through his labels Mole Audio and Diaspora Echoes, his work draws on mythology, history, and ancestral knowledge, guided by the principles of dub that he describes as "the skeleton of what electronic music is today."

Sandwell District

Few names cast a longer shadow over modern techno than Sandwell District. Formed in 2002 by Regis, Function, Silent Servant, and Female, the collective rejected dance music's growing commercialism in favor of punk swagger and brooding tenderness.  Their 2010 album Feed-Forward reshaped a generation of techno producers with it’s mysterious and emotionally captiving sound. Fifteen years later and honoring the loss of Silent Servant, they’ve returned with End Beginnings and are bringing that singular intensity to their closing set.

Byron is an Irish-born producer, the founder of Radiant Records and a resident at Refuge Worldwide and Adonis who’s warm personality shines through his DJing: playful, proggy, and packed with euphoria. S-candalo is the sibling duo of THC & DHC Raised in Germany with Colombian and Chilean heritage, the pair bring maximalist Latin energy: big chords, big drums, even bigger basslines.

This year, two community-based projects are creating a sauna village at The Lake on Friday and Saturday from 1-9PM. Cul De Sac is a pop up project in NYC soundtracked with DJs. Konduku uses polyrhythms from his Turkish heritage to create a deep, immersive strain of modern techno, tinged with tribal house, UK breaks and other twists. Garçon is a Basel-based expert in slow-burning mood modulation, combining dexterous landscapes from all corners of electronic music united by a dark and mysterious mood. Frequently playing in psychedelic open air festivals around the world separately, we are in a for a rewarding ride in The Grove.

Lydo is a Filipino-born Vietnamese-American sound artist, resident of Basement, and creator of projects X-TRA.SERVICES and care, which were built to serve queer, trans, and nonbinary people of color like themselves. Mama Snake is a Copenhagen-based artist, DJ, and label head of Amniote Editions and previously Ectotherm. Expect sonic thrills, ranging from visceral and grooving to mind-bendingly experimental.

Closing The Gym is the meeting of two generations of Japanese psychedelic techno for their first b2b: the legendary DJ Nobu and DJ MARIA., one of the scene's most exciting new voices. Former hardcore punk with a 10,000-record collection, Chiba's DJ Nobu runs the Bitta Label and the fabled Future Terror party which began in 2001 as a deliberate antithesis to the commercialized club scene of nearby Tokyo. DJ Maria is a producer the founder of Japan's small DIY forest festivals Transcendence and Moment and her music has influences of psytrance and progressive. Together their are powerful and deeply transporting techno leaves the dancefloor feels suspended somewhere between hypnosis and total release.

After performing with Trickpony in Bossa the night before, Mike Midnight steps up for a solo sesh. With a broad knowledge of low-lit club music, the Australian producer / DJ has a signature style of smoked-out rhythms, deviant basslines and illbient elegance. A mainstay on NTS Radio, host Flo Dill called it “music that when listened to at night makes you feel unstoppable.”

As founder of PACIFIC MODE and longtime organizer of Sustain-Release Tokyo, DJ Healthy has been dedicated to building bridges between Japan and NYC heads, and has been organizing in NYC since the early days of Bossa Nova Civic Club. jp draws inspiration from the overlooked corners of '90s IDM, his sound balancing intricate rhythms and shimmering hazy melodies. Together their sets are moody and omnivorous, blending off-center house, techno and dubstep-adjacent breakbeats with a chuggy low-end philosophy uniting it all.
